Positive Behavior Interventions- Challenging the School to Prison Pipeline

In this training, participants will:

• Learn about the school-to-prison pipeline and how zero-tolerance discipline practices ultimately prime youth for early exposure to the justice system and influence the suspension and graduation rates of students with disabilities and those of low economic status

•Receive strategies and resources that address behaviors that adults find challenging.

• Learn about Functional Behavior Assessments and how to develop and implement effective Positive Behavior Intervention Plans by using three approaches: Cultural Awareness, Trauma-Informed, and Conscious Discipline.
