Success Stories
Missouri First Steps families share their stories about how the early intervention services have enriched their lives.
“As a mentor I love that MPACT treats
volunteers like family. I always get the information, training, and support I need. I have enhanced my own
abilities from their support to empower parents to be their own child’s advocate.”
“I have been a parent mentor with MPACT for 2 years and the support, resources, training and education I have received from MPACT, has enhanced my ability to support other parents through the special education process.
MPACT has helped me to develop effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving strategies and thus teach those strategies to other parents. Being a parent mentor, has afforded me the opportunity to empower parents to use their own voices to advocate for their child.”
