While the first training focuses on ages birth to 3 years, the other trainings are relevant to parents of children receiving or eligible to receive special education or related services. Tuesday September 12th @ 6pm-7pm Understanding the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) Process –This workshop helps families of children in First Steps or in the process of being evaluated for early interventions understand the (IFSP) process and how to be an effective team member.
Wednesday September 13th @ 6pm-7pm Effectively Communicating Your Child’s Needs This workshop is designed to support families in how to communicate effectively regarding their child.
Thursday September 14th @ 6pm-7pm Family Record Keeping-This workshop helps families understand the importance of keeping and organizing their child’s records. We will discuss what types of records are important to keep and why.
Friday September 15th @ 6pm-7pm Parental Rights- This workshop explains the Parental Rights document that all First Steps families receive and helps families understand what they and their child’s rights are under Part C of IDEA.
